How We Met
Chris and Elyse first met on the main hall green of Lawrence University. They were juniors in high school visiting Lawrence as prospective students and taking a tour of the campus. Elyse saw Chris right away in his plaid shirt and corduroy pants and promptly left her assigned tour group to join his. After touring the campus and sitting in on some classes, Elyse slipped Chris her email with the inquiry “Let me know if you come to Lawrence ;)”.
After emailing back and forth for a year and a half, both Chris and Elyse decided to come to Lawrence. For four years they called Lawrence home, only to purchase their first home in Appleton two blocks from where they first met a few years after graduation. Light more Light, Love more Love!!
The Engagement
Chris had initially intended to propose on August 7th, but he and Elyse were a little worse for wear from a friend’s wedding, so the proposal was pushed to the next day. Chris chose the shores of Olympic National Park because of how much Elyse loves the water, exploring tidal pools, and climbing on rocks.
Getting to the beach meant a short hike through the beautiful pine rainforest. Beach 3, just south of La Push, is known for its stunning views and tidal pools.
