We couldn’t let summer end without going to a T-Rats game. Auggie seemed to enjoy the game - cotton candy and the chance to catch a fly ball being the most important things. The first day of Kindergarten was an emotional one. We walked over with him and waited with the other parents to watch them enter school, all the while slyly dabbing tears from our eyes. Shh, you can’t tell anyone but Auggie will be presented with the Shining Moment Award in October for how responsibly he’s been acting at school - so proud!
The first weekend of the school year was a busy one. Gaelyn, Matt and the girls decided to come up and we had an early fall day at an apple orchard. The kids loved the giant pile of sand the best, but the corn maze was a surprise hit as well. The next day we went on a day trip to Door County. We explored Cave Point County Park, which had some beautiful views of the lake and fun rocky shores to explore. We tried Sway Brewing for the first time and were impressed with their beer and food. Of course no trip to DOCO is complete without a stop at Bjorklunden and we got a family shot on our favorite tree.
The following weekend we were down in the burbs for Mark’s brother's memorial. I’m glad we were able to be there to support him, and it was the first time Chris has met the whole Lucas family. Matt and Justine were also there so it was great catching up with them. Lately we’ve been having sleepovers with Asher which have been a blast. The football season’s in full swing so we’re looking forward to hosting people for all the games.
